Mobs

Mobs

Mobs can be anything that moves in Minecraft. There is 3 types of mobs: Passive and Hostile and neutral

Let's start with the nice and Passive.

Most of these mobs can supley you with food. This involes Cows, Chickens, Mushooms and Pigs. There is the tameable Ocalot, the shy and speedy. The 4 and not 6 legged Squid, theone that dropes ink when killed. Here is a video on that.

The neutral mobs are the Wolves and Zombie Pigmen. These will start as passive but 1 hit will turn them hostile and any other mob of the same species. Wolves are different though as once fed with a bone, gotten from killing a Skeleton, will become tammed. But if you attack them they will no longer become tameable.

Now to the hostile mobs. There are a veriatey of these and the ones that die due to sunlight are the Zombies and Skeletons. The Spiders and his cousin the cave Spider will not atack with a light level of 8 or more. But if atacked it will atack you as well. There are far too many to list so here is a video.

Dirt

Dirt

Dirt is the most common block in Minecraft and not considered good building material. Dirt is usefull in that if you use LT on the grass with a Hoe it will be prepared for farm land. Be warey though because if there is no water and the seed is not placed on straight away then it will convert back into a normal dirt block. As I have said before it is not considered as good building material as it has not got good blast matirial and is not prety. Trust me.

As in all posts here is a video.

Food

Food

Food in minecraft is used to restore hunger. There is a variation to the types of food and some might poison you. They have a variation of how many hunger it restores. E.g. Raw Fish will only give you one joint. There are too many too list but I'll try my best to list as many as possible. Let's start with meat.

Chicken: Chicken restores 3 hunger points and unlike raw chicken it will not poison you.

Beef: Unlike raw chicken, raw beef will not poison you but will not restore as many as cooked. Cooked Beef, or steak as prefered, restores 4 hunger points.

Pork: Pork is collected from pigs and has a 0-2 chance to drop it. It will restore 1.5 hunger and will not poison you. But best to put it in the furnace because it will restore 4 hunger points.

Fish: Raw fish, when eaten, will restore 1 hunger point but when cooked it'l restore 2.5. Fish is different in that you will have to catch is with a rod.

Now to the vegetation side of food.

Cake: The Cake is made with milk, eggs and wheat and will also have to be placed like a block. The key feture is that it will restore 1 hunger point but can be used 6 times.

Bread: Bread, crafted from 3 wheat, is more plentiful than cakes and will restore 3 hunger points.

So as I said before there are too many to list and so I'll put a video on for more info.

Hunger

Hunger

Hunger in minecraft, is a game machanic that is located in the bottem right hand corner of the HUD. Each joint is made up of 2 hunger points which will deplete over some time, whether your running, jumping, mining or choping your hunger will deplete. So what's the problem you ask? Well the problem is, is that once all hunger is gone, if you are in hard mode or hardcore mode you will die. Otherwise your health will deplete so that there is only on heart remaining, making you vunreble to attacks. If in peaceful mode though, you huger will not deplete and you will regenerate hearts if there are 2 or less joints have gone. If you are on easy, normal, hard or hardcore you can eat food. (Which will be my next post.)

If you are still confused and want more infomation on hunger here is a block exploration video made by Toby to help you out.

Coal and Charcoal

Coal and Charcoal

Coal is a mine able substance, the most common of ores and can be mined with any tear of pick axe. When Coal is mined it will produce one lump of coal. Coal is used in a number of recipes including the Fire Charge. It is used to make torches, and used as fuel in a furnace. Charcoal is available by smelting a log of any type and used in all the same ways as coal.

Hear is the video for more info on coal.

Trees

Trees

Trees are structures in Minecraft that are made with 2 types of blocks. Wood logs and leaves. There are 4 main types of wood logs (one of which is not mentioned in the video.) There is Oak wood. Oak is the more plentiful than the others and are found more almost anywhere. Than there is Spruce wood which is found in the forest biome. Next there is the Birch wood. Birch, like Oak, is almost found in any biome but more common in the birch forest biomes. Last but not least there are Jungle Wood. These are found, funnily enough, in the jungle biome. They are not found anywhere else but have a big difference in that if you put 4 saplings in a square they it will grow into a larger tree. Each tree has a chance to drop 1 to 5 saplings in which can be planted to make more trees. Bone Meal can be used on them to make them instantly grow. Watch this video on more information on trees.
